The Palmer Municipal Fire Department responded to a two-alarm house fire in Lower Nazareth Township just after 9 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 18, the squad said.
While dousing the blaze, two of the department’s “bravest” firefighters were working on the second floor when it collapsed, causing them to fall through to the first floor, PMFD said.
The pair were pulled to safety as a third firefighter suffered a laceration to an extremity while assisting with the rescue, the department said.
All three were taken to St. Luke’s and have since been released after receiving treatment.
“In the fire service, we are all family, and we made sure our brothers were not alone while being treated,” said PMFD.
